Sanjaya’s Hometown Refuses to Give Him His Own Day

Sanjaya’s hometown of Federal Way, Washington has no interest in recognizing him with his own day, unlike Blake Lewis who was awarded with his own day in his home town of Bothell, WA. April 11 has been named as Blake Lewis day.

It doesn’t appear that the city of Federal Way will do the same for Sanjaya Malakar, despite his becoming one of America’s current obsessions.

Q13 Fox reports, “That city’s manager says Federal Way has more important things to deal with and won’t push to give the 17-year old a proclamation.”

If I were Sanjaya, I wouldn’t be too hurt. Federal Way is a real shit hole suburb of Seattle, so I believe that they do have other things to deal with. Things like armed robbery, car jackings and shootings.

And yes, I have been there.
