Judge Steven Lubell granted a three-week postponement for Nicole Richie’s DUI trial and set a new trial date of July 11.
The judge added that there will be no further delays. Richie is facing 90 days to a year in jail due to a prior DUI conviction in 2003.
Spokesperson Jane Robison who’s with the LA County District Attorney’s office said of Richie’s situation, "She has two options: Either she goes to trial or she changes her ‘not guilty’ plea."
She added that Paris Hilton’s case will not affect the outcome of Nicole’s. "For us it’s taken on a case-by-case basis," she told Reuters.
"That’s a different office, different jurisdiction. It has nothing to do with this case."
