Jimmy Kimmel, 39, underwent an emergency appendectomy on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, his publicist, Lewis Kay, said in a statement.

"He is resting comfortably and is looking forward to getting back to work," said Kay. "The rest of this week’s tapings of have been canceled until he is back on his feet."
