Siegel

"Good Morning America" Entertainment Editor Joel Siegel died Friday afternoon in New York. He was 63. His death came after a long battle with colon cancer.

Siegel, who had family and friends by his bedside, including his wife, Ena Swansea, and his young son Dylan,
had worked until two weeks prior to his passing.

Siegel joined "Good Morning America" in 1981 and had been the early
morning show’s critic ever since with weekly movie reviews on Fridays.

In addition to his work in broadcasting, Siegel was also an author. In 2003, he wrote Lessons for Dylan: From Father to Son, a book he wrote for his son in case he did not beat his cancer.
