Nicole Richie was granted yet another trial delay in court today.
The new trial is scheduled for Aug. 16.
Richie’s drug-expert witness is out of the country, and it’s expected that the witness (Dr. Terence McGee) will refute the prosecution’s scientific evidence.
Richie’s attorney will also fight the urinalysis test Richie took the night of her arrest, saying it’s “unreliable.” Must have found a little more than just pot and Vicodin, eh?
Richie’s attorney has turned down a plea deal for the time being. But depending on how things go, that could change.
If convicted, Richie faces a minimum sentence of four days in jail with three years of probation because this would be her second DUI offense.
