Detroit radio station WKQI-FM and DJ ‘Big Boy’ were offering listeners $1,000 if they could guess when Britney Spears would commit suicide after losing her children.

“When will Britney end it?” is what the radio stations website asked. The contest was pulled after multiple people complained they found it to be extremely offensive.

The “Mojo in the Morning” crew apologized on Big Boy’s behalf blaming their program director Dom Theodore. Mojo said he was embarrassed by his colleagues.

“I was disgusted and saddened. Remember, she is a mother.”

A caller named Dale called into the show and gave his two cents saying,

“I tried to kill myself a few years back. I think it’s a very touchy subject for a lot of people. I think the contest is pushing the limit a little bit.”

Channel 95.5 radio DJ Spike said,

“Our boss is the type of guy that believes no publicity is bad publicity.”

Spike will host the “Out of the Darkness” suicide prevention walk this weekend. All benefits will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
