Make a margarita or put on panties? I only had time to do one thing, y’all!

It was a crazy day in the Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday.

On Wednesday, Britney’s attorney called for an emergency hearing regarding Britney’s overnight visitation rights. The hearing started at 8:30am and there was no Britney. Everyone had though she flaked. Did she sleep in? Was she out late? Doesn’t she care?

At the beginning of the hearing the Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon asked Brit’s attorney, Anne Kiley, if the overnight visit concerns were necessarily an ‘emergency’.

Gordon said to Kiley,

“Your client made a conscious choice not to do anything that was ordered. That was a choice. That put us in this position.”

Kiley responded that it is an emergency for a 2 and 1-year-old to be with their mother.” To which Gordon stated, Spears’ substance abuse issues and emotional issues…could have devastating effects on the children.”

The hearing recessed before noon and without any ruling from the judge. He then instructed both sides to continue deliberating in the courts cafeteria. (Doritos anyone?)

At her lawyers advice, Britney finally showed up for the day’s second hearing, which started at 1:30pm. (So maybe she wasn’t ‘late’ after all?)

The hearing lasted just over half an hour and ended with Britney being granted one overnight visit per week. She must also have a court appointed monitor with her during that time. Spears wanted her mother to be considered for the position, but the judge did not grant her request.

Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said that it’s thanks to his client that Britney was granted the over night stays.

“[Kevin] agreed voluntarily to slightly increase visitation provided that certain conditions were in place. He agreed. He didn’t have to. I opposed the family member as a monitor.”

The next hearing is on October 26. If Britney follows the courts orders she might have a shot at regaining equally shared custody.
