A 46-year-old Catholic priest from Boston has been placed under arrest, charged with stalking and harassing Conan O’Brien.
For more than a year Father David Ajemian sent Conan threatening postcards and letters to O’Brien’s home as well as his office in Rockefeller Plaza. He also contacted Conan’s parents. Ajemian is currently undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
“I want a public confession before I ever consider giving you absolution — or a spot on your couch,” wrote the Father. Another time he penned, “Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans?” He signed his letters with the name, “Padre,” or “Your Priest Stalker.”
Last week Ajemian tried to get into the taping of “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” and was arrested. The priest could face up to a year in prison if convicted on charges of aggravated harassment and stalking.
The Archdiocese of Boston said in a statement that Ajemian had been placed on leave and was no longer allowed to minister publicly.
