Britney Spears is sedated and resting comfortably after her meltdown.
She is refusing visitors and doctors are saying that is a good thing.
A source tells Page Six that after Britney refused to hand the children over to Kevin’s bodyguard that Kevin himself showed up try and convince Britney to release them. That’s when Britney locked herself in a bathroom, grabbing Jayden and maybe Sean, on her way in.
A bruise that little Jayden acquired during the incident is thought to be the reason he was sent to the hospital. Britney swears she didn’t cause it, but says that the bruise was there when she got the child from Kevin previously. However, the source contends that it most likely occurred when Britney jerked the tot into the bathroom.
The children were said to be quite distraught when Kevin finally got ahold of them.
The source adds, “Kevin tried to talk to Britney at the hospital last night and she freaked out. He wanted to try and get to the bottom of what she did, but she was not cooperative.”
Both Federline and the Spears family are hoping Britney will be forced to enter rehab.
The source continues, “Britney is in a horrible state of mind. Suicidal is an accurate description. She has made threats, in the past, and recently in words such as ‘I should just drop off the face of the planet’ and ‘If I were dead…’”
And the saga continues.
Updates as they happen.

I have never been a Britney fan, but I am also no fan of human suffering, and Britney does appear to be suffering. From what I can’t say. Childhood star syndrome? Major Depressive Disorder? And because of her celebrity status, I wonder if she can even feel safe enough to open up completely to her physicians and medical staff. Confidentiality laws for patients have been know to lapse for persons of interest before, and I doubt that it will not happen in this case as well.
I truly hope that there is something medically wrong with her that can be fixed, and that her two sons do not have to deal with a certifiably batshit mother for the rest of their lives.

BRITANY IS IN TROUBLE. SHOWS LIKE THE TODAY SHOW NOW EXPLIOTE FACT FOR ENTERTAINMENT. I WISH I COULD TAKE THAT POOR GIRL IN MY HOME AND GIVE HER THE HELP THAT OBVIOUSLY HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS WON’T. ALL THEY SEE IS A STORY TO BE TOLD OR SOLD. SHE NEEDS LOVE AND STRUCTURE AND PEACE.

Monday, I totally agree!
So many doctors and lawyers have broken confidentiality before, you can never be sure. This is the kind of case where you need some kind of long time family doctor, or even (dare I say it) priest that you’ve known since you were a kid. But Britney has been in showbusiness for so long, she can barely count on her family as totally confidential. I’d be so paranoid.

I agree Monday and Danielle completly! I wish someone would grab her up and give her the love and support she needs. Her own family obviouslly isn’t doing that. I think it’s a sad day when people use other peoples pain to make themselves feel better. The girl could commit suicide any day now and yet people are still throwing punches at her. Some people have no sympathy for others.

Hmm - having been a willing resident of a mental health facility once upon a time, I have some observations.
Generally when one is placed under a 72 hour hold, visitors are NOT encouraged. Lawyers would probably be ok’d by the attending physicians and were deemed necessary. Family and friends are not because they tend to cause stress and upset to the patient.
72 hour holds mean that you are there to stay for at least 72 hours.
You are not allowed to sign out AMA (Against Medical Advice). You lose that right. After 72 hours, the attending physician(s), counselors, and nurses will consult and determine if the patient is well enough to be given the option to leave treatment if they desire, although usually the reccomendation is to continue treatment. HOWEVER, the determination CAN be made that additional time is warranted and the hold can be extended
In Britneys case, I suspect that visitors would also not be encouraged because it would cause a scene, and the staff do everything they can to keep all the residents calm and not agitated. KFed was most likely only permitted to see Britney while she was still in the ER or being processed.
Once admitted to a psych unit, patients and their belongings will normally be checked thoroughly to make sure there is nothing deemed harmful coming onto the unit. Even hairspray and hand lotion can be considered contraband, because the patient or another patient on the unit could attempt to ingest them. Little things like paperclips are not permitted because those who are hell bent on hurting themselves can do a lot of damage in a very short time with a paperclip or dismantled pen.
ALL patients admitted for psych evals are initially placed on at least every 15 minute checks by a nurse or aide, or have a bed-sitter assigned to them. Acces to bathrooms is limited, and those on certain levels are not permitted to have their bathroom doors unlocked, and some may be required to have a nurse or an aide with them during a bathroom visit.
Generally, all patients admitted are considered to be a danger to themselves and or others until proven otherwise, and even then precautions are taken to make sure patients are safe. Sedation is NOT uncommon. When non celeb people are admitted a lot of times they need rest and a peacful environment before they can begin to get better. In someone like Britneys case, I would think the need for some deep restful pharmaceutically induced sleep would be more than average.
The fact that she has been photographed frequently drinking Starbucks may be indicative of having sleep problems, which goes along with depression and bi-polar symptoms.
Just a few things to keep in mind about what life is like for Britney right now.

She signed herself out of the hospital today after throwing a major hissy fit and is out on the loose folks..! Save yourselves and your children if you live in California.. eek!

Spike, thanks for your informative comment. I wonder if you have any thoughts on the reports we heard that none of the hospital staff wanted to sit with her. Aside from being strikingly unprofessional, it seems just strange that somebody would say this in the first place (if in fact they did). After all, they deal with people acting out all the time, that’s what they’re there for. Care to speculate on why this might have been?

this is gross. there is no other word for it. i dont know how empty it would feel to trust no one, but she is there. i hope that she can find a way to reach out and get help if that is what she needs. suicide is not the answer, i would give my own life to get my brother back . . . people have no clue. she has been turned into a media freak show and all the fingers point back at her for blame. that just cant be accurate - we have all had a hand in this.
