Skating legend Dorothy Hamill, 51, recently found out she has breast cancer.

Hamill is being treated at Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. Her prognosis is good. However, she will have to take time off from the “Broadway on Ice” shows but should return by January 16th.

Hamill won a gold medal in the 1976 Olympics and retired shortly after. She was one of the major pop culture icons of the late 70s. Her short bob hairdo was all the rage and her Dorothy Hamill doll was a huge success.

I’m 51 and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer 5 yrs. ago. Today I’m cancer free. I will include you in my prayers. You have been an inspiration of mine since I first saw you on the ice. Hopefully my prayers can help repay you for the joy and pride you have given me and our country. Bless you.
