Family business manager and spokesperson, Lou Taylor, spoke with Meredith Vieira on the NBC ‘Today’ show and explained the Spears’ family side of the story.
“Here’s Britney, who needs to have some security somewhere, that every single thing she does and every person she has a relationship with doesn’t become another opportunity for her to be exploited. When do you ever rest if you’re constantly in fear of being exploited?” Taylor said.
“The family basically extended an invitation of trust as a resource to support them, not to make a public statement. Any public statements he made, because he was brought in under this cloak of trust, are just inappropriate,” Taylor added.
“I felt it was inappropriate for him to be self-serving,” she told Vieira. “I felt for Jamie and Lynne that this was a time they were taken advantage of. They are people who love their daughter and know what’s going on and want that support.”

Semi-nude photos of Britney Spears taken by “close friend” paparazzo Adnan Ghalib have reportedly been sold to an Australian magazine for more than $50,000.
The snaps of Spears wearing a t-shirt were taken by Ghalib kneeling in front of her as “she stands in her skivvies” [American slang for underwear], celebrity website X17 online reports.
Australian gossip magazines contacted by ninemsn have either denied paying for the photos, or refused to comment. Who magazine, rumoured to be the buyer, was yet to respond at the time of writing.
In the balcony video, the mother-of-two is shown wearing a t-shirt and jacket with no pants.
Ghalib had reportedly been trying to sell the photos through his Finalpixx photo agency for an original asking price of $5.6 million, but the amount dropped drastically after tabloids passed on the snaps.
The agency’s website has posted a photo of the pair claiming the two are “dating” and denied reports that photos of Spears were being shopped around for profit.
“Britney and Adnan did not vanish this past weekend, they simply chose to spend some much-needed quality time away from the constant pressure of being hounded by the media,” the website posts.
“Despite such heavy scrutiny, the pair are enjoying a healthy, normal relationship and contrary to reports Adnan is absolutely NOT shopping his story via Finalpixx for $5 million US dollars.”
Meanwhile, Spears’ family has lashed out at TV therapist Dr Phil after he “crossed the line” by talking publicly about his visit to the hospitalised singer on the weekend.
A spokeswoman for Spears’ mother Lynne told US show Today that Dr Phil had betrayed the family’s trust by talking to the media about the star’s mental health.
Spears was hospitalised after refusing to return her two boys to the custody of ex-husband Kevin Federline, which resulted in standoff with police last Thursday night.
That “Dr.” Phil is not even a psychiatrist. He’s only a psychologist and he would be still working his small practice somewhere in Texas if it wasn’t for our America’s African American Sweetheart “OPRAH”. She always gets these idiots on her side and then every bored housewife believes everything she says, like it’s gospel. I Hope that Dr. Phil get’s some bad press. I know any press is good press so we know he always get’s good press now it’s time for him to get his ass chewed out. He obviously never took the hypocratic oath that you HAVE to take in order to become an M.D. As far as Britney goes, she’s just as much an idiot as he is but I feel sorry for her because she is nuts right now and needs all the help she can get. She needs to live life more like the rest of us so maybe she can see that her life was pretty great and lucky and she should first learn what the word “GRADITUDE” means.
