Once upon a time, Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger were very close. The two bonded while shooting the film ‘The Patriot’ where Ledger played Gibson’s son.
However, that all changed after Ledger took a role in the controversial gay film, ‘Brokeback Mountain’.
Private investigator Paul Barresi claims that a “major Hollywood producer” told him that Ledger asked Gibson for advice about the role and Mel told him to pass. When Ledger went ahead with the film Gibson wasn’t too happy about it.
“Ledger asked Gibson whether he should take the role of Ennis Del Mar in ‘Brokeback’. Gibson strongly counseled against it. The role apparently ran counter to Gibson’s morality. And he felt that it would ruin Heath’s career.”
“When Gibson parted ways with Heath, it broke his heart,” claims Barresi.
Ironically, Ledger received an Oscar nomination for the edgy role. When asked why he accepted it, the late actor replied, “it was kind of a reaction against the comparison that I’m the new Mel Gibson.”
This is unbelievable! Mel Gibson couldn’t carry Heath Ledger’s SHOES! He’s a racist, anti-semite that should be thanking his lucky stars that he even got to WORK with Heath Ledger. I gotta talk about this in MY blog!!

I don’t agree with his opinions or his views on probably anything, but at least he says what he thinks and gives a real opinion based on his own morals and experiences. Most people, celebrities and politicians especially, will tell you what you want to hear, the safe thing, the “politically correct” thing.

pfft. The only reason Ledger was so celebrated for taking the role is that hollywood loves fags, loves fag roles, loves straight actors playing fags. The movie sucked, ledger was a mediocre actor who squandered his fame (built entirely on his looks, he couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag) and drugged himself to death. Actually, the only pity was that he didn’t die before he could spread his genes throughout the population. Perhaps his daughter will die young to his damaged DNA won’t go any further. I fucking sick to death hearing what a “great talent” he was when all he ver accomplished with playing a gay cowboy. If the role hadn’t been a gay role the movie would have sunk like a stone.
It is a hoot the role he’ll be remembered for was as a guy named Anus – er Ennis
