It’s not surprising that producers of Saturday Night Live have no desire to work with Ashlee Simpson again.
After her infamous lip-syncing, hoe-down fiasco, Papa Joe has been desperate to get Ashlee back on the show to redeem herself. Now that Ashlee has a new album coming out [Bittersweet World] he figured the timing was perfect.
Joe contacted the show’s producers who promptly told him “no”. Apparently Ashlee was such a pain in the ass last time she was on, producers have vowed to never work with her again.
Of course Ashlee’s spokesperson is telling a completely different story. “We’re not doing ‘SNL’ because they’re dark the week we are here in April and there were no other opportunities later in the year.”
Or next year. Or the year after.. Thank you, SNL.

Um, I’m not a fan of Simpson, but would someone like to tell the author of this allegation that she ALREADY RETURNED to SNL to “redeem” herself?
After the October 24, 2004 fiasco (when Jude Law was the host), she returned on the October 8, 2005 show (when Jon Heder hosted), during which she did an a capella song.

yea sva1994 is right…. nice job of researching. Still really be funny if they didnt want her on.. not because she was a pain in the ass.. but because they have a much longer list of talent that would get more viewers than her.
Ummm…Ashlee DID perform again on SNL…..but it was so insignificant that you couldn’t possibly count that as a redmption. And Joe WAS trying to get her one the show HOSTING to push her new CD. Its only April, I doubt they have the year PACKED with other celebrities already…..
