Good on her! While pop music is fine for what it is and I enjoy some of it, hearing a 35 year old sing about “like a child needs it’s blanket” or spell out “bananas” in a marching band outfit is just too much! The beat maybe there but the contrast is just ridiculous. No need for all deep thoughts and shit, but damn, remotely act your mature age. No need for rocking chairs and all ages can most assuredly enjoy it, no prob, BUT some of the shit out there is straight up tweeny, being sung by people with life experience, both pain and the fun, that should be expressed with some lyrics other than the shit they foist on us.
Whew. That was quite the burp…coming from a seasoned by life oldster like me. I needs a nap.:-)

In relation to the user comment above, I don’t it has to do with age, as much as it does integrity. There have always been silly lyrics. “Doo wa diddy” (hey maybe P. Diddy could use that in a mix! JK!!!!), “my ding-a-ling”, and “yes, we have no bananas”. These songs have a certain charm or mischief about them though, that a lot today’s “silly pop songs” seem to lack, replaced by gimmick.
On a side note I LOVE SHIRLEY!!!! <33333
