Two Seattle moms are hoping to hit the bigtime with their new creation – high-heels for infants.
“Heelarious,” a.k.a. “crib heels” are soft baby-booties for infants aged 0 to 6 months that look like pumps. They sell for $35 a pair.
Creator Britta Bacon says she came up with the idea on her way to daughter Kayla’s 4th birthday party. She says she thought, “That would have been hilarious if I could have brought Kayla to a party in high heels when she was a baby.”
Play that funky banjo, whitegirl!
She and co-creator Hayden Porter joke on the site that the shoes “may cause extreme smiling and hysterical laughter when in use (this is completely normal).”
I wonder if they got the idea from Beyonce’s lovely toddler line?
WEIGH-IN: What Do You Think About the Heelarious Heels?

I go back and forth with stuff like this. Yes, on one hand it seems harmless, but what is the rush in having the little ones grow up? I swear I get so pissed when I go shopping for an out fit for a little one and they have what has to be described as hoochie-wear for toddlers and elementary school aged girls. If you don’t mind your teen walking around with a bare belly and pants cut down to there or super tight t shirts and pants, well then, so be it, but it isn’t cute or appropriate for little ones. It may seem a bit of an exaggeration to some but the over sexualization of our kids is a big mistake.
I’m from Seattle & it really makes me want to barf when I hear these freakin’ Seattle yuppies who come up with stupid shit like this! It really makes me want to move out of here sooooo bad.
Katy,
I’m a born and raised Seattle-ite as well.
Cheers!
