Angelina Jolie finally welcomed their twins into the world this weekend.

Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were born Saturday, July 12, at 6:27pm. Knox was born first, with sister Vivienne being born within a minute later.

The mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, oversaw the signing of the birth certificates then displayed them to the public as proof of the twins’ arrival.

He boasted, “It’s a pride to Nice and all its citizens. On behalf of the inhabitants of Nice, I congratulate the happy parents, the most famous couple of the world who have chosen our city for this happy event.”

He added, “I also congratulate the four brothers and sister of the newborns who are real ‘Niçois’ (’citizens of Nice’).”

Jolie received a lengthy visit from her obstetrician yesterday. As he left the hospital he told reporters, “They are all very well, very well. Everything is okay.”
