Christina Applegate’s publicist has confirmed that the actress has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The rep released the following statement, “Benefiting from early detection through a doctor ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery.”
Applegate’s mother has successfully battled breast cancer in the past. In 2003 Applegate said of her mother’s experience,
“The first time she was diagnosed I was a very young girl – probably 7. I’m not sure it really fully hit me at the time, but she had to undergo surgery and have a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. It was devastating for my mother to lose one of her breasts and have to go through all that. It is a very personal cancer for the women it affects. This is about women’s womanhood. It’s one of the aspects of our femininity.”

I wish Christina all the best in her recovery process, she is a tremendous actress and seems to be a quality person.
Her mother is a breast cancer survior. Christine has been active in breast cancer fund raising for years. You have to get annual check ups no matter how young you are and check yourself. I wish her the best and know she’s going to be just fine.
Best of luck with her.
