After PETA showed Giorgio Armani a video of rabbits being slaughtered for their fur he went public saying he would not use fur in his collections anymore.
He told Time magazine,
“I spoke with the people from PETA and they showed me some materials that convinced me not to use fur.”
However, one short year later Armani’s fall collection is full of rabbit fur. Rabbit fur coats for babies, floral-printed fur coats, fur-trimmed jackets and fur-hemmed skirts. Obviously PETA was disappointed and wanted to call him on it.
European PETA created this altered photo of the designer, making him appear like Pinocchio, the Disney character whose nose grew every time he fibbed.
Well, I say good for PETA. He went back on his word after proudly boasting that he wouldn’t do it. So of course there is going to be backlash.
Whether you love or hate PETA, I think it is great to have people who, although might be a bit radical, have good intentions and DO make a difference.
I’m not a member of PETA, nor am I vegetarian, but I am a huge animal lover and hate the process that animals have to go through in order for us to wear or consume them.
