Emily-Wynne Hughes, the tattooed, colorful singer who eased through  Heart’s Barracuda, might be the first American Idol contestant whose onstage accessories include an alcohol monitoring device.

Hughes was arrested in July for drunk driving in West Hollywood. She pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving and was ordered to wear the SCRAM bracelet and serve three years probation. The judge can call a hearing at anytime to remove the device if (s)he chooses.

Before Idol, Wynne-Hughes sang with the all-girl band Go Betty Go. She had to cancel their European Tour after she made it through.

Fun Fact: Back in February 2007, Emily worked at a tattoo shop, Body and Soul Tattoo, the same place where Britney Spears shaved her head. Hughes was there when it happened and was later quoted in numerous gossip tabloids.
