I am absolutely FLOORED after hearing this audio of Christian Bale tearing the director of photography a new a**hole on the set of “Terminator Salvation,” after the director accidentally walked on the set, thus ruining the scene.
This incident was reported a few months back but the audio is just now being made public. It’s worse than you can imagine. Scary, actually. I mean, is this guy all hopped up on something? Sure sounds like it.
The poor director was subjected to a few minutes of Bale screaming, completely full of rage, spewing f-bombs and threatening to “trash his lights”.
Just listen, the tape speaks (or shrieks) for itself.
TMZ reports that, “film execs sent the tape to the insurance company that insured the film in case Bale bailed.”
Get over it. He’s human. He lost his temper. Everyone wants to belittle him now because he is an actor. I find it interesting that this audio tape is “leaked” now at the peak of his career. Nice bashing. True it was a bit unprofessional of CB, but he lost his temper. We all have. Unless those of you who are perfect, and don’t do that “sort of thing”. The DP seemed to be unprofessional also because this wasn’t the fist time he did this mess. But, I guess that’s okay. Bale should just over look that. People Please! CB is a good actor, despite what people want to believe and say. They are going to find any little tidbit they can to bash a person. And they say he has issues.
Disgraceful. Yeah, people have tempers but as adults, you learn how to channel it another way. He obviously thinks he is better than other people “lower” than him on the set.
I’ve worked on film sets for years and I I don’t think it is a matter of the DP actually walking on the actual set but moving around and adjusting lights off camera and getting into the actor’s ’sight-lines’. Being unnecessarily distracting off set is a no-no but you also have to do your job and that might mean you have to walk/move/whisper etc. What this shows is that not only is the actor unprofessional to freak like this (taking the DP aside in between takes to explain the situation is more appropriate) but he is not very good at his craft if he loses his focus so easily. Sadly, this will likely never affect his career as actors behave poorly to crew all the time.
papasmurf, are you serious? It’s one thing to make your point, but to belittle someone like that and go on and on..is completely unnecessary. I don’t care if you are Joe Schmo or Mr. Bale. This sort of reaction is absolutely unacceptable (or should be) at any place of business.

If you snap at someone and momentarily lose your temper, that’s one thing, but to berate someone like that for a solid (what almost 5 minutes) and threaten physical attack is UNprofessional. CB is the one who is unprofessional here, not the director. If I was the director, I’d tell him to go pound sand.

I USED TO be a big fan of Christian Bale’s and I saw almost all of his movies. After hearing this tape, I will NEVER spend another dime on one of his films. How disappointing. He is a JERK. There is no reason to speak to anyone that way at any time.
