Damn, this Michael Phelps bong thing really ruffled some feathers.
It seems there is a South Carolina sheriff hell bent on “investigating” and possibly pressing drug charges against the Olympian.
Sheriff Leon Lott Jr. told People magazine,
“If someone breaks the law in Richland County [of Columbia, South Carolina], we have an obligation as law enforcement to investigate and to bring charges. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is making an effort to determine if Mr. Phelps broke the law. If he did, he will be charged in the same manner as anyone else. The Sheriff has a responsibility to be fair, to enforce the law and to not turn a blind eye because someone is a celebrity.”
Really? Is this necessary? I mean c’mon, Lindsay Lohan didn’t even get charged after police found cocaine in her pants – and coke is a Class-A drug! Cut the guy a break. Crimony.
I don’t think people should get arrested for smoking weed….i mean comeon..people are allowed to drink alchol and smoke cigerettes…so why ban weed? BUT…if normal everyday people are getting arrested for having marijuana on them then why should a celebrity get away with it. It wouldnt be fair in my eyes.
