Latina magazine is reporting that the name of M.I.A.’s new baby is “Ickett”.
M.I.A., whose real name is Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, is keeping with the celebrity trend of naming your children something they will surely be teased for later in life.
What ever happened to common names? Nobody names their kids anything normal in Hollywood. Stars love attention, and another way of getting that is by naming your kid something outrageous. Nevermind if the kid is going to hate it or not!
UPDATE: I kinda thought this might be crap news, but figured I would give Latina magazine benefit of the doubt. However, as it turns out, this report was indeed untrue.
M.I.A. has a catchy little response about all the ruckus caused by her baby’s supposed name;

So, maybe the name means something special to her? … Like Pickett without the P..? As if baby doesn’t pee..? I need to ask Bobby Trendy while he is in safe def mode, protecting himself from the dangerous fall out from the near miss comet while monitering the Chris and Rhi trial? Or ask the mom if Sri Lanka will appreciate her son’s name more than the rest of the world?
