New York City Council speaker Christine Quinn has yet to attend the city’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade down Fifth Avenue.

The reason? She’s openly gay. But you can add Irish to that list as well.

The city has told her if she wants to be a part of festivities she cannot show any gay pride. Meaning, no buttons, no pink triangles, no rainbows. So, in return, Quinn has chosen to boycott the parade and instead celebrate at other locations. (Once she traveled to Dublin.)

This year Quinn is set to have her most extravagant St. Patrick’s Day yet. She was one of the elite chosen to attend President Barack Obama’s White House Saint Patrick’s Day party.

Now that’s what I call sweet revenge.
