Last night was Country Music night on American Idol and most of the contestants chose typical country songs, whether they were good at singing that genre – or not.

Emo looking, eyeliner wearing Adam Lambert decided since he wasn’t a country singer that he would do his own version of Johnny’s Cash’s Ring of Fire, transforming it into something that he felt comfortable with. Unfortunately for him, most of the judges weren’t as comfortable with it as he was.

But I loved it! It was totally unique (and I hate to use this much overused term) but it was nice to see a performance “outside of the box”!

Adam showed that he is creative and an artist who knows what direction he wants to go in. What did you think of his performance? Did you love it or hate it?
