No Mercy for Madonna

Madonna has been denied an adoption request in Malawi on the basis of her residency – or lack thereof.

The pop queen had her heart set on a three-and-half year old orphan, Mercy James, whom she had met in 2006 while visiting the country.

Madge’s Malawian attorney broke the news to her, informing her that because she was not a resident the courts decided she can not adopt.  The residency requirement is 18-24 months. It sounds like it might stick this time.

Madonna adopted David Banda, now 3, in Malawi, and the adoption became the center of a media circus. There was much speculation that she was given special treatment. That is not the case this time.

You know that she is not a happy girl right now. She’s the Material Girl! No one tells Madonna she can’t have something!

I’m sure we haven’t seen the end of this…
