Twitter folks, what exactly do you think of this whole “who is going to reach 1 million followers first” thing that Ashton Kutcher and CNN have had going on Twitter for the past week?

I happened to be up last night when Ashton (@aplusk) passed his millionth follower, and I wouldn’t have known about it if CNN hadn’t sent out a “Breaking News” memo via email. Yes, Ashton Kutcher getting one million followers on Twitter is apparently breaking news.

Is CNN turning into Fox News?

I understand that CNN was a part of this big Twitter competition, but must it be “Breaking News” in my inbox? Just weird if you ask me.

Obviously this whole thing is a big buzz on Twitter today, and I have read a lot of people saying that they are actually un-following Ashton because he was getting to be a bit much with the whole thing.

Whatever. I still follow him, but honestly, I am more interested in what Demi is twittering about!

Oh yeah, more breaking news, Oprah made her first tweet today. Woo hoo.
