Controversial Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean and 14 time Olympic gold winner Michael Phelps are casually dating.

The beauty queen’s grandmother, Jeanette Coppolla, says the two have gone on dates but aren’t serious.

“Carrie and Michael have been out to baseball games and lunch. He always calls her when he is in town and they go out.”

She adds that Carrie is aware that Phelps gets around and says she has no plans of getting serious with the athlete.

“Carrie knows that he has dated a lot of girls but she enjoys going out with him and isn’t serious about being in a relationship with him. He’s a nice guy and she likes him.”

Granny is actually pretty funny. She dissed the Baby Huey blogger who started all the controversy by asking Carrie’s opinion on gay marriage. When she answered that she didn’t support it, he scored her a zero for that portion of the contest, thus possibly robbing her of the crown. Granny ain’t down with that, and she says she doesn’t understand why he was invited to help judge the competition in the first place.

Granny is my kind of girl.

“I don’t know why that gay guy Perez was even judging a contest with a bunch of girls. That doesn’t make any sense. He should be judging a Chippendale’s contest!”
