Manny Ramirez Suspended 50 Games [UPDATED]

Manny Ramirez has been suspended for 50 games after testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.

Ramirez plays for the LA Dodgers, who have the best record in the game right now. The suspension starts immediately.

From La Times:

Ramirez is expected to attribute the test results to medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue, according to a source familiar with matter but not authorized to speak publicly.

So it sounds like he is going to deny it and say he was taking something else..pfft.

There will be a press conference later today regarding the suspension and Manny’s test results.

UPDATE!

Yep, Manny is claiming that a doctor gave him a drug that “boosts sex drive”  but is not Viagra. Here is his statement:

“Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.”

First off, bitch is a BASEBALL PLAYER. Like he needs anything for his sex drive! They are a horny, cheating bunch of wolves! Many of them, anyhow..

Secondly, I have a real hard time believing that they would ban him for a whopping 50 games if this were the case.

Thirdly, I have been watching Alyssa Milano’s twitter, (she’s a lifelong Dodgers fan) and she brought up a great point that I wanted to share. She wrote: “Do you think MLB knew about Manny testing positive before last night but let him play to break the home streak record????”
