Katy Perry performed “Waking Up in Vegas” on American Idol looking a little ridiculous as a female Elvis.
She also wore a cape that said “Adam Lambert” on it, much to the chagrin of many viewers who thought it was an unfair advantage to Lambert, who is already favored to win.
I don’t know, I can’t stand her. I thought it was awful. But then again, I have never been, and never will be, a fan.

I don’t think it’s very fair that you say you will never be a fan. Have you listened to more than just the released singles off Of One of the Boys? I suggest you should. She wrote more than 60 songs for the record, only 12 made the final cut. But there are some that aren’t on the record that can be found on youtube. (Example: “I Do Not Hook Up” by Kelly Clarkson was written and recorded by Katy.) Katy Perry is an incredibly talented singer and songwriter (She wrote/co-wrote every song on the album) and I think you should give her another try!
She looked fantastic on American Idol, so much energy. And she sounded really good for having a cold. I wish you could just see her through my eyes. One of the reasons why I value her as an artist and person (I’ve met her and she is the sweetest!), is the way she connects to her fans. She really cares for them and appreciates all their support. She has even posted on the Katy Perry Forum on multiple occasions. Plus she has an amazing sense of humor. See for yourself http://www.katyperryblog.com. She has to be over the top in her performance cause she has a terrible singing voice. Her whole shtick was cute at first but now it’s annoying. It’s same with lady gaga, her whole shtick was interesting at first but now it’s ridiculous now.

well,it sure was gusty of Katy to put Adam on her cape. People remember this is America and freedom of beliefs and speech are permitted. what she did is show people that she wants Adam to win and so do I. Go Adam go!

Best friend. You may have met her but you don’t know her. How she promoted adam was straight up rude to all the other contestants. She is not sweet. How would you feel if you were danny or kris? I was all for danny. Not against adam, he was my 2nd choice. Now I am voting for kris because of ai and katy perrys unclassy behavior. And katy perry is supposed to be a so called “role model”? Haha. Katy Perry looked totally stupid on stage. You kidding me? Lady Gaga was WAY better than her. Dude, she sang and danced a LOT to like techno dance music, mmk? thats hard to do. Um..and I thought American Idol is a singing competition. If Perry were a contestant, she’d drop in the auditions–she can’t sing to save her own skin. I like Adam and I understand that she’s just cheering for him. Right. But it’s TOTALLY unfair to kris and danny.. Her outfit looked downright ugly and so did her face.
Katy isnt the best singer but she has the perfect personally for music! Without her…music would be very differnt!

I think she did great. Sometimes she doesn’t quite pull through on live performances (like the Grammy’s) but this time she did really well!

What Katy Perry was straight up rude to Kris and Danny…All of American Idol’s attempts to get Adam to win are starting to make me root against him…I was all for him in the beginning but hes getting unfair attention. And as for Katy Perry, she should have stuck to writing music and selling it to far superior singers such as Kelly Clarkson. Her writing is cute but her voice could make dogs howl…
I’m just curious when it became rude to support someone on American Idol? Big deal that she’s famous. Come on people.. do you feel the need to chastise everyone in the audience on their moral integrity because they hold up signs that are contestant specific because I’d really like to know the difference between katy’s cape and an audience members sign. It just seems like a reason for people to bitch. The fact is, she’s a chick with a career and an opinion. Why does it matter to any of you what she does while on stage. let the woman perform… she’s not hurting anyone. You don’t like it.. then don’t watch it. Hell… it’s not rocket science.
