Melissa Weber, a social studies teacher at a Queens middle school, has been arrested for having sex with one of her students.
Weber, 27, began seducing the 14-year-old boy beginning on April 13th and it continued until May 14th. Within that time the pair met on seven different occasions.
Their secret was discovered after the boy’s mother, a PTA member, overheard a rumor about her son and the teacher possibly having sexual relations. The mother looked through her son’s cell pone and discovered numerous text messages from Weber. One of the messages asked the boy to erase what she had sent him for fear of her losing her teaching license or going to jail.
Thursday morning mom marched her son into the police department with the phone evidence in hand.
Weber is now in jail and is waiting to be arraigned on charges of rape and sexual abuse. If convicted she faces up to seven years in prison.

Do you notice how all these women who sleep with students are all unattractive and gross. They probably never got attention in high school so now they remember all this when they are in the halls with their teaching jobs so they try and relive those years.
People like this make teachers look bad. Most of us behave appropriately and are really grossed out by this. I agree with the above post.
The Weber family has been through alot these last few years. As time goes on the story will unfold. Please remember that everyone in America is innocent until PROVEN guilty.
The point about women that sleep with their students being unattractive doesn’t hold water in the case of Debra LaFave (Tampa) she was hot !
It may just be a fetish sex fantasy thing … women can be pervs too right !
At most she should be barred from teaching and sent to counseling. Boys 14 and over are just looking to dip it wherever they can and there’s no damage unless STDs are involved. Teen girls on the other hand idealize and romanticize everything and are very changed by such things. This is an area where there are major differences between the sexes and any punishment should be relative to harm to the victim. Had the sexes been reversed, yea, throw the book at him.
Come to think of it, why aren’t there penalties for the students?
yeah, you can’t punish a kid–even a young boy, who, I’m sure, was more than glad to get it going on with WHOMEVER. That’s right, Debra LaFave was absoutely beautiful, and could have had any man she wanted–meaning that these particular teachers apparently have some deeper-seated issues going on. Pretty sad, actually.
