David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room this morning of an apparent suicide.
The 72-year-old actor was discovered by either a hotel maid or the film’s producer (there are conflicting reports right now) who reportedly found him in a wardrobe room with a rope around his neck. This has not yet been confirmed, however.
Carradine was in Bangkok shooting a film, and those working on the movie say that he was in good spirits in the days leading up to his death.
The Telegraph has discovered that Carradine may have been suicidal for sometime. They revealed a 2004 interview where he spoke of having suicidal thoughts.
“Look, there was a period in my life when I had a single action Colt 45, loaded, in my desk drawer.
And every night I’d take it out and think about blowing my head off, and then decide not to and go on with my life. Put it back in the drawer and open up the laptop and continue writing my autobiography or whatever. But it was just to see.”
Carradine’s manager Chuck Binder says the actor’s death is “shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work … a great person.”
He is survived by his widow, Annie Bierman.
So sad! I LOVED David! Of course growing up in the 70s/80s I watched Kung Fu religiously. Then there was Kill Bill, among the other dozens of films he was in.
Such a shame. Hopefully his soul is at peace now.

UPDATE: Carradine’s rep is saying that the death was “accidental”.
He says: “We can confirm 100% that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock.”
But get this, He was found hanging naked with a rope around his neck and “other parts of his body”.
Something is super fishy here! Not a suicide? Was an accident? Something is not adding up..

WOW! You’de think that if someone had it all going for them they would have hope for their life? It shows you that you never know just how sad and without hope people can unseemingly be. People really are great actors.
Auto erotic asphyxiation is my guess.
It’s still a shock to me. I had just introduced my son to the Kill Bill series 2 weeks ago. I felt that he was perfect in that roll.
