Ok, WTF was Joe Jackson doing at the BET Awards only days after his son, Michael Jackson, died tragically?
I get the fact that the awards show wanted to honor Michael and his achievements, but I find it odd when any parent does press after losing a child. Famous or not.
I, probably like you, know someone who has lost a child. Not only a small child but an older child, as Michael was, and regardless of their age the parent is normally devastated beyond belief. Definitely too heartbroken to do interviews and get all gussied up for a night out on the town. I mean, check the above video, isn’t Joe just completely stoic? And colder than a witch’s tit!
When the interviewer asks Joe, “How you doing sir? How’s the family holding up?” Joe says without a drop of sadness in his voice, “I’m great. My family’s doing pretty good.” The reporter, seeming at a loss for words, follows up with, “Yeah?” And Joe responds with, “Yes they are.”
Deep.
But wait, it gets better.
Interviewer: “I know the last couple days it’s been tough on you guys..” He doesn’t finish his question.
Joe: “And…?” [Awkward silence] “Yeah, it has, it’s been really tough. Remember, we just lost the biggest star in the world. Superstar in the world. So, it’s been tough.”
Notice how he never said anything about losing a son? Only that “we” just lost a “superstar”. How unattached and cold. Nothing new though, why do you think Michael was so messed up? His dad never loved him the way he should have been loved as a child. I mean, it doesn’t take a psychologist to figure it out.
The world loved Michael Jackson. It’s just too bad his father didn’t.

And before someone suggests it, I don’t think there is a chance in HELL that he is in some state of shock or just trying to deal with his son’s loss by continuing life in a ‘normal’ fashion.
I know casual fans that are more heartbroken over MJ than his own ‘father’.

I’m not sure that Joe Jackson is really with it – he seems kind of confused. How old is he? If MJ was 50, that means his dad is well in to his late 80s. Clearly he was a terrible father, and not a nice man, but he reminds me of older people I know when they don’t really know whats going on.
yes,joe jackson is a greedy pathetic excuse for a man!!!!he stood there smiling,and promoting his new record label ,acting like a greedy ASS,but i must say i wasn’t shocked at this.he’s only seen dollar signs as far as his kids were concerned since day one so why would he show any feeling now?this man’and i use the term man loosely’ is a pathetic greedy soul,and what i DON’T get is how his wife katherine could even stay with a man that has mistreated his kids and used them,and is even using michael NOW even in death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!for god sake,she just lost her son!!!is she deaf?does she not see what a money monger this man is?he makes me want to vomit and my heart goes out to michael and his siblings for having to endure him at all.michael will be sorely missed,god bless him and his children.
He clearly doesn’t care about anything but $$$. CNN report asked him about Micheal’s funeral and he hasn’t got to that get.
But then he says ” He has a really good statement right here” then says he got I record company and then has some guys ramble off the name and then says something about blue ray..

unbelievable…reminds me of when piece of s@#$ scam artists call people after a national tragedy asking them to donate to charity…except this national tragedy is the death of his own f@#$%*& son. how the hell could someone exploit that!?! and never mind that 3 kids just lost their dad…
I liked how he took the time to change the subject and introduce his partner in his new record company, I guess. I mean who does that but a person who could give a crap. Perhaps he didn’t like his lifestyle and felt it was better he was gone? But that was one of the most abnormal things I have ever seen in my life. Honestly, if you didn’t know that was his father, you never would have been able to tell they even knew each other. It was a wow moment, he didn’t even bother to pull a sad face for the camera.
The poor interviewers trying to find a connection, or even a second of grief, so the interview seems even stranger, and Joe is basically soulless. I’m so glad to know they are doing a second autopsy, because almost no relative I know would have mentioned that. Perhaps an insurance policy Joe needs to collect on ?

Did anyone notice that when this “family” talks about the kids, they say they’re doin’ fine? How could these kids be fine? They are so stupid & self-centered they can’t even say something about how tragic this was for these children & how they’re doing their best to help them. The Jacksons suck. I also loved the way Jamie Foxx said Jackson belonged to black people! He was “theirs.” Well Jamie, Michael tried harder than anyone on this planet to be white. If anyone rejected his race, it was Michael. His body is hardly cold & hypocrisy reigns.
I am a mixed women black and white. Jamie Foxx ’stupid’ statement about Michael Jackson belonging to us, meaning black people was out right crazy! I find the hypocrisy stifling. Jamie Foxx claiming Michael as “theirs” The black community railed against Michael when he bleached his skin, they made him a pariah when he married a white woman, and only now… in death, do they claim him. Opportunistic, revolting and callous at the very least.
It sickens me. The shills, the greedy, and the hangers on, looking for their extra 15 minutes, stoke the embers of racism into fires.
Michael transcended race. He was black to those that wanted him to be black.. he was Michael Jackson to everyone else.
