Michael Jackson Pepsi Commercial Hair on Fire!

Anyone who was alive in 1984 surely remembers the Michael Jackson Pepsi commercial where Michael’s hair caught on fire.

After all this time, a video has been released showing the catastrophe taking place.

The date was January 27th, 1984. The horrible mistake happened on the sixth take, when the pyrotechnics went off earlier than planned.michael-jackson-pepsi-commercial-video

Michael is seen dancing down the stairs after the explosion with his hair very noticeably on FIRE. Stagehands and security rushed the stage and put the fire out before Michael seemed to know what was happening.

After the fire was extinguished Michael is seen looking shocked and obviously traumatized, clutching his head with his gloved hand.

This video is a bit disturbing and I found it to be very sad! The creepy music adds to the eeriness of it all too.

Us Weekly claims that this dreadful accident was what caused Michael’s pill addiction, but I am just not willing to speculate on that..

What happened on that day was terrible, i remember exactly where I was when the news broke out about what had gone on. Watching the video, I am shocked at how long it took people to re-act to what had gone on.

It’s funny and sad how one incident can change your life.

Horrible… I don’t see funny but I see a lot of pain from a horrible horrible event. Wow I think it would have changed my life too. sad

The video of Michael Jackson’s hair catching on fire was horrific. It probably did contribute to his drug addiction. Poor man. I feel so sorry for him. I hope he sued Pepsi and everyone who was involved. Some people who were “close” to him claimed that he didn’t show any signs of drug addiction because he probably hid it very well, as do many drug addicts.

  • Baby your the best**

Man oh man that was sad. I could feel his pain.

What a traumatic thing to go through. You can see it in his face at the end. Poor Guy :(

I’m sure it wasn’t as traumatic as it was for the little boys he molested… I’m seriously tired and disgusted of this michael jackson sensationalism…he was a legitimate pedophile yet people seem to forget because he died?? Disgusting…

And don’t give me the ‘innocent until proven guilty’ BS…no one who is innocent pays 20 million to settle a case unless they knew they couldn’t win it…talk to a lawyer about that one…

  • Moe

Damn C here too! We’re talking about the mans’ hair catching on fire and here go one of YOU people. He was proven INNOCENT in a court of law. Sorry that’s not good enough for you! Also minimal wage man, 20 million is not a lot of money when you make a shit load so please don’t judge his pocket by yours. You don’t know what you’d do if faced with similar charges in a corrupt judical system but I guess you wouldn’t have to worry about an unfair justice system. Must be nice!

  • Riestmeyr

whatever…..the guy admitted that his father coached him to say all those terrible things about MJ. You can’t run from your self…… I hope somebody accused your ass and see how well you can handle it a…hole…

if either of you imbeciles had seen the actual evidence taken from netherlnd then you wouldn’t be reacting that way. If he were innocent he wouldn’t have bothered to settle, bottom line. OR better yet, take a basic psychology course and delve into this sicko’s disturbing relationships and fascination with children (boys) and then get back. I’m glad he died. It has cleansed the world of a disgusting pedophile. Oh, wait, if he weren’t who he was then there is no way a JURY would have let him off with the evidence gathered by state officials.
