Katharine McPhee, usually a brunette bombshell, has gone blonde for her new album.

McPhee’s new platinum do is not a wig either! Kat explains that she thought the daring look would go along with her new album, Unbroken, which is set to be released on October 6th.

“My music is a little more edgy so that inspired me to be adventurous. I’ve never dyed my hair before so this was a pretty drastic change. I’ve always been known as a brunette but I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and it kind of just fit with all of the searching with the music and experimenting that I would do the same thing with my look.. The look has affected the way I dress, it’s inspired me to be more adventurous with what I decide to wear. It’s silly that something so simple as changing your hair could have such a big effect. I’m just having fun with it. This is a great time for me to do something different. I’m young — I always try to have a good time.”

I think it looks great, and I am really digging the cut!

I have always been one for drastically changing my hair on a whim, so I agree, it’s fun. And good for her, she looks gorgeous!

i love it in the picture, which is black and white so it would look good on most people. I have to wait and see a color one to see how well it goes with her skin tone and see if it washes her out.

Who in their right mind is going to believe that becoming a blond is going to help Mcphee.She is a total loser going back to her on purpose yellow dress malfunction.She cries for attention and the only one giving it to her is her loser of a husband who is 20 years older than her.I guess he likes a new blond in the bedroom.Maybe a porn career would be best for her as she could cash in on her boob job.

“barbara,” you’re pathetic. It’s been over three years since American Idol. That yellow dress comment proves the fact that you’ve been holding hostility toward this girl you don’t know for all that time. Three years. How pathetic is it to fuel so much energy and time finding these articles about someone you’ve hated for three years and acting like a child? Has she done something to you on a personal level for you to resort to this rude behavior? Would you wish that on someone’s daughter or wife that you know on a personal basis? I honestly hope you’re not a mother or wife yourself because I’d be damned if they had your nasty guidance to lead the way. Doesn’t sound good when it comes back to you, does it? Get help.

I find it sad that women think they need to go blonde for whatever reason, guess it’s a way to blend in with the rest of them.

I think she is gorgeous no matter what color hair she has and her voice is incredible!!!! She should have won American Idol!!!! I really like the blonde hair on her………good move:)
