Mad Men Season 3 premieres Sunday, August 16th on AMC!
I am SO PSYCHED for this! I missed Season 1, but watched all of Season 2 during the past couple of weeks – thanks to my DVR and AMC replaying them last week. I am completely hooked on the show now and am totally looking forward to the Season 3 opener!
Of course Don Draper is completely dreamy, handsome and debonair, but I hate him for cheating on his gorgeous wife, Betty! (My girl crush.) But then again, the show might be a bit bland if he didn’t, eh? Draper reminds me of James Bond, in a way. Swanky, smart, the sort of man every woman wants, and every man wants to be.
I love how everyone, including doctors, chain smoke, and everyone has liquor in their office, their bedrooms and their living rooms.
The fashions are to die for. The clip-on earrings, the fancy handbags, the gloves, the hats, the broaches, the amazing cocktail dresses, of course the shoes,…I could go on. Even if this show was only mediocre I could simply watch it for the fashions.
Homosexuality was taboo, women were merely objects of men’s desires, and children got spanked. But no matter how much times have changed, the problems that we are all faced with in today’s world have not.
Sunday Mad Men is back. Season Two ended with Don and Betty Draper’s marriage on the fritz. Don had another affair while on a business trip in California, then Betty discovered she was pregnant and soon after had an affair of her own. Sterling Cooper was set to merge with Putnam, Powell, and Lowe, a British company, Joan was raped by her fiance in Draper’s office, Pete professed his love to Peggy who told him she had his baby then gave it away, and Roger Sterling left his wife and proposed marriage to Don’s secretary, Jane.
What will Season Three have in store? Find out on AMC August 16th at 10 PM!

I’m sooo excited!!! I’ve loved this show from the beginning! I definitely agree with you about the fashions too. Loves it!!
Mad Men is a good show, but why doesn’t anybody EVER talk about IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA????? That is by far the funniest show on television. I urge everyone to watch it….Sept. 18 new season begins on FX. Just so you know, I don’t ‘urge’ anything very often, but in this case….
I hear ya Justin, that show makes me laugh so hard my stomach cramps after. Mad men though isn’t a comedy, it has a few funny parts ocassionally though. I love both shows.
Madmen is such an amazing show, it’s truly one of the best on Tv, the show runner and creator was a writer for the Sopranos to give you just a little idea about the quality of the show, acting is perfect, the recreating of the time period is dead on, the characters are fascinating, it’s just one to set the DVDR for.
Another great show coming back is Sons of Anarchy, which is on FX and is one of the most unique and wonderfully well done new shows, SOA is run by Kurt Sutter who was a writer and show runner for The Shield, there is a lot of great entertainment on now, I haven’t watched anything on the supposed majors in almost 4 years. Saving Grace, the Closer, also really entertaining shows both on TNT.
