Chris Brown sentenced to probation
Chris Brown has been sentenced in a court of law today for the brutal beating of his girlfriend, Rihanna, back in February.
Brown has been sentenced to five years probation and during this time he must obey all laws. He is subject to search and seizure at anytime while on probation. He must surrender any guns or weapons he owns immediately. He must also submit his DNA.
For the next 5 years he must appear in court every 3 months. His first court appearance is November 19th. During this time he will also have to stay in constant contact with a Richmond, VA domestic violence program, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, which he will be enrolled in for 1 year.
He will be required to perform 180 days of community service, and not easy stuff either. The judge made it clear that she wants him to do hard labor during this time. He will be doing his community labor in Virginia. (I’m sure the paparazzi are already planning their trips!)
A protective order has also been issued by the judge, barring Brown from harassing or threatening Rihanna.
As for monetary penalties, Brown must pay $2,500 in restitution, $2,500 in probation expenses, a mere $30 criminal conviction fees and $400 for a domestic violence fund.
But remember this isn’t exactly about money. This is more about his time. The judge is not making Brown’s life easy for the next five years, that is for sure. It looks like he will have plenty of time to think about what he has done, and hopefully he will come out of this a better man because of it.

I think he got off easy, but I am surprised with his attorney he got as harsh a sentence as he did. He wasn’t raised right, so now the courts will take over making sure he knows how you treat a woman and there are consequences for domestic violence. It is a shame that the courts have to protect Rhianna from herself, but if she does try to get the order amended, the DA will trot out some of the really bad photos in court, which are supposed to be very graphic and disturbing – she was really hurt badly, risking public exposure and I am not so sure this guy’s career could stand up if what he truly did to her is made public. Nicely played Prosecutors, nicely played.
Let’s hope he learns how to treat women and that he just goes away for good.
Well its a bad thing and a good thing he will learn his lesson and never do it again and he will never think or have the thought to hit a women.
