DJ AM IS DEAD!

DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, has been found DEAD in his NYC apartment!

This is SO shocking – another celebrity dead!

DJ AM survived a fiery plane crash last year (Sept.’08) after the Learjet he was in with best friend Travis Barker crashed. They both suffered severe burns but survived.

DJ AM has died at the age of 36.

The New York Fire Department has confirmed that a body was discovered at Goldstein’s Lafayette Street address at 5:24 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 6 p.m. The body was not transported from the scene afterward.

The New York Post, claims that drug paraphernalia was found near his dead body. TMZ says that prescription pills and a drug smoking pipe were found.

DJ AM’s neighbor told E!: “I came home and there were police cars everywhere.  My doorman told me someone died in 7A and I knew who it was. The whole front of the building is filled with police blocking if off with barricades. I know he has been here for the last week and a half, but I haven’t seen him.”

DJ AM’s publicist released the following statement: (via People)

“The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.”

His management company released a statement as well:

“We are devastated by the loss of Adam Goldstein, our dear friend and valued member of the Dusk family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones. He was a true talent who will be greatly missed.”

Adam posted on his Twitter account Thursday:

“New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york ain’t always what it seems.”

His body has since been removed from his apartment.

    Spicy, please let us know how Travis is holding up as soon as you know, they were so close, this is a sad tragedy. My heart goes out to all of Adam’s friends and loved ones but I feel especially for the impact this must be having on Travis, they experienced something so utterly horrific together, this has to be crushing…

    He has finally reached that point that every addict dreams of reaching! Believe me Drugs are very spiritual! They distance your soul from your body and your soul becomes closer to God! It’s what happens after our body and soul completely separate that is still unknown,but I hope that he reached God and all is good for him!

    This relapse was due to PTSD from the plane crash and the injuries from that horrific plane crash where he was a living inferno – he nearly died. I wish he had reached out to others because he helped so many people get clean and stay clean, it’s a terrible thing for him, his family and friends.

    That saying “every time you use could be the last time you use” never seemed truer than today.

    He was a great guy, who was a class act and a good person who had been sober for years, due to an accident that was no fault of his own, he was given drugs for pain and one thing lead to another.

    Before you call him names remember he was a loved person with many friends, for good reason – he was a generous kind man who will be missed. This should be a day for sadness and understanding, not judgment and hurtful words.

    Klintontravis, what heroin den did u just walk out of??!! Crack or Meth does not bring u closer to God..it opens doors to the devil! I know b/c that’s what made me & several other ppl I know put that pipe down. I came face to face w/ him when I was 14 playing w/ a ouija board & again 19 yrs ago before I cleaned up. I hope DJ Am didn’t die from an over dose of that considering it was found beside his body. That’s an awful way to go. You die from a burst heart when od’ing off any type of speed & trust me, it’s not a pretty sight…so I’ve been told. I’ve read that he was a good man & God is a reader of hearts so I have no doubt he was recieved by the Lord. My condolences to his family & friends.

    I have to say, I’m in shock right now. I woke to find the “DJ AM is dead” headline on the E! ticker. Wow, so sad. He must have been in some serious pain (if what the media outlets are saying is true) to start doing drugs again. I hope he’s resting in peace and his family and friends find comfort in their memories of him.
    And to Klinton-whatever-your-f*cking-name-is…you’re either a troll or an idiot. I’m suspecting both.

    Drugs can be and are spiritual, who ever says they can’t is an ignorant closed off person. Drugs are not bad, the people who use and abuse them are. I have personally had life altering experiences from LSD. Klintontravis is obviously a person who is doing some sort of drug for the wrong reason. Any person such as my self who takes drugs for inspiration in life does not call them self an addict. I am merely a person in the world surrounded by drugs, they are not my life. Drugs can bring you closer to god depending on how you use them and when. Your mind works the way you want it to believe it or not. Everyone on here trashing this man for his drug use has a lot to learn, because right now you are all on drugs. You are made up of drugs. For example, you have DMT in your brain to regulate reality. It’s how you process sight, it is all one big hallucination created by your brain and the chemicals in it. ALL OF YOU NEED TO DO SOME RESEARCH IF A 16 YEAR OLD BOY SUCH AS MYSELF KNOWS THIS AND NO ONE ELSE DOES.

    Ronald Jedi your age totally shows. I have done every drug on the planet. There are times when you might have what people call a spirtiual high. But the truth is that most people who overdose have a thought or called it spiritual. As for the drugs in our body that make it work is that really your excuse cause that is sad. Maybe you should take a step back and look at what you think is going on. Also this person you are defending is a addict there is nothing positive in anything he said.
