McKenzie Phillips on Oprah
MacKenzie Phillips, daughter of John Phillips and former television/movie actress, is appearing on Oprah Wednesday and will be revealing some supposed “shocking secrets” about her family.
In this clip you get a preview of what’s to come.
MacKenzie talks about how her father was the first person to shoot her up with drugs and how Mick Jagger told her, “I’ve been waiting for this since you were 10 years old,” before bedding her. We’ve heard these stories before, but apparently MacKenzie does have a secret she will be revealing on the Oprah Winfrey Show that we’ve never heard.
She’s probably going to say that her dad sexually abused her. I don’t know this for sure, just a hunch. If this is the case, I wonder how her siblings will respond.
I never know how much to believe of what MacKenzie says. I still don’t think she is 100% sober. I could be wrong, but if you recall it hasn’t even been a year since she was busted for attempting to smuggle cocaine and heroin in plastic baggies and balloons onto a flight. You can never trust a junkie. It makes me wonder what her motive is for appearing on Oprah’s show.
You should update this post or make a new one if you watch it and find out watch the secret is, because I have no interest in watching but you have me a little intrigued now.
Looks like you are correct and the story is particularly hideous because he got her high the night before her wedding and had sex with her. There is more but I will pretty much gag if I ever hear any of his music again. Poor thing, it seems the only kids not screwed up by him were the kids not allowed to be with him alone. Jesus, how do you become that ill and do those things to your daughter, you child. How does a child become an object of sexual desire. I just don’t get it especially because it destroys the child’s life. No clue as to how you can begin to rationalize that behavior – but it is a growing problem in this country.

I will honestly say I lived next to her. She was a kind hearted person and was like a mother to me. Her son and I were very close friends and I would never imagined her to use drugs. Do any of you who commented whats it’s like to be raped? Honestly I hope she finds peace.

I believe her even though her sister Bijou Phillips, as well as her father’s ex wives are denying this ever happened. They want to save themselves in a selfish way from the humility of knowing he did something truly horrifying to his own daughter. MacKenzie Phillips is obviously trying to find peace in letting a secret out that she has had to hold onto for too long. My daughter was sexually abused by her step father and it took 6 years for her to tell me. I hope MacKenzie finds peace and realizes she has love and support from those who truly care for her.
I appluade MacKenzie. It’s about time someone talks about “this subject”. As usual, whenever someone comes forward on this taboo subject, they are quickly labeled as a liar, having mental health problems or a druggie/drunk. When in the hell are we going to HEAR and appluade these people? It takes a lot of courage to speak out, let alone live with this terrible thing, and then to have the “haters” come out and make things worse is simply a double crime.
I wish only the best for her and hope she is able to maintain her sobriety through all of this. I haven’t been able to maintain mine, I see myself on the path of death, just as she was. I can only hope that she will inspire me more so that I can get some help as well.
