DJ AM’s “Gone Too Far”, a documentary about struggling with addiction, is set to air on MTV tonight, October 12th, at 10PM PST/EST.

The show was filmed before the late celebrity DJ’s death in August. After speaking with MTV his family allowed the network to go ahead with the show despite the untimely passing of their son.

On August 26th, AM, real name Adam Goldstein, told fans on his Twitter account that he had just finished filming the show. It was only three days later that his body was discovered in his Manhattan apartment, dead from a drug overdose.

I am proud of his family for making such a difficult decision. I’m sure it wasn’t easy. They probably want other young people to see that yes, it can kill you. It’s such a tragic ending for someone who had it all going for him. It is just so sad that he was actively trying to help others with their addictions but yet he ended up being consumed by his own.

Knowing the outcome of Goldstein’s life, this documentary should have an extreme impact on those watching it. I will absolutely not miss this one.
