Balloon Boy vomits on the Today Show, 10/16/2009
It seems the stress has gotten to “balloon boy,” who couldn’t keep his breakfast down during a live interview with Ann Curry on the Today Show.
It’s a pretty awesome clip, really. The vomiting happens completely out of the blue, and call me warped, but it was a pleasant surprise. It just adds to the whole ridiculousness of the situation. If this family is trying to pull one over on us, karma is certainly not making it easy for them.
Heh.

Balloon boy blows chunks film at eleven LOL. Anybody know if the family was paid for this spot on the show i bet they were.
OMG….soooo funny!!! But kinda sad…these parents are evil for puttin their kids in this mess!
This poor boy. The mom and dad’s parenting “skills” appear to be right up there with Jon and Kate’s. Publicity first, the child’s welfare second!
Little Falcon literally can’t stomach the lies his father is telling. This is too funny!
Hey the kid might have swine flu, is really sick, is mistreated, uncomfortable in a weird adult accusing setting.. why the hell the parents didn’t tend to him and the News people stop the interview in his behalf.. is so strange and sad.
It was said on HLN that the dad went to the TLC channel looking for a reality show deal for their family but was turned down. They seem to be milking every minute of media attention, even if it means letting their son puke on live tv. Shame on these parents. As I watched the live coverage of the “balloon chase” I felt it was staged because if there was any so called “basket” underneath it would not have taken the parents 2 hours to tell the authorities that it wasn’t there anymore. They would have known from the helicopter shots that the balloon had something missing from it. Of course the media outlets were milking it for their ratings too. They probably knew the boy wasn’t in there before the balloon landed. Also, his hiding place was not very easily accessible, especially by a 6 year old. I think the parents stashed him up there in the attic and told him to stay there, or he would be in trouble. The stress of being coached and telling lies and who knows what they told the boy, maybe he will be in trouble if he DOESN”T go along with their story? Maybe thats why the poor kid keeps puking while being interviewed. As for the sheriff that is maintaining they believe the parents are telling the truth, I think they are trying to save face because it kind of makes them appear on par with Reno 911 cops…..
Another thing I thought of, this kid will probably never be able to live down the name “balloon boy” and will be ridiculed and teased in school for it. That is if they go to school. Very selfish of the parents to exploit their kids this way, to make a buck. I know the economy isn’t so great, so maybe the parents feel they need the money and believe the end justifies the means.
I note some people are saying that they suspect the boy was secretly given something to make him sick so that he would not be able to respond to questions put to him. I personally think this is false as the ‘damage’ was already done the previous day when Falcon blurted the well known paragraph. One however should remember that a 6 yr old child will always tell the truth when questioned although you have to remember a 6 yr olds grammar can be difficult to understand, and my interpretation of ‘We did this for a show’ can in fact be interpreted two ways. What do we determine the word ‘this’ to mean? Everyone thinks ‘this’ means hoax, but hang on, If the father has been trying to get on a reality TV show with a science programme involving a weather balloon with tornados, then the boy could have meant that the balloon launch was for a show! The father has been trying to get on a reality show without success. The weather balloon experiment had not been an overnight brainstorm. It had been planned for a TV show. The only way to get to the bottom of this would be to interview Falcon on his own to ask him clearly what he meant. The fact that the parents have not been charged would indicate that there is some doubt! Sure there is going to be circumstantial evidence found on computers, but again remember the original reason the Father built the balloon was to hopefully get on Reality TV with it.
Vomit? Look again. I think its split pea soup. And, wasn’t that little plastic tub just a handy thing for mom to have in a split second? Who knows what that child was told to ingest to produce that green mess? I can easily believe the dad is capable of that act.
