Miley Cyrus is ‘worst influence’ of 2009
In a poll taken by AOL tween site JSYK.com, teens voted Miley Cyrus as the ‘Worst Celebrity Influence of 2009′.
42% of the teens polled chose Miley as the this year’s anti-role model. Coming in second and third were Britney Spears and Kanye West.
Was it the sideboob shots? The “leaked” photos, or the slant eye picture? Probably a combination of all the above. Miley has received a ton of bad press over the past year and obviously teens have taken notice. But worst influence? I disagree. I think she merely won the title because she is one of the most popular teen idols out there right now, and there are just as many kids out there that don’t like her as those who do. I think this time the Miley haters just happened to be voting more. Oh Miley, if only you’d stayed on Twitter, you could have swayed the poll! Heh.
Obviously one of the Lohan girls, Paris Hilton, or, yes, Kanye, probably should have won this by a landslide. I mean, c’mon. At least Miley hasn’t showed us her bits, bum-rushed an awards ceremony or said she’s as popular as God.
Yeah I don’t agree with this either. There are plenty of young celebs that are worse.
I think this is interesting because this is her fan base. The others you mention are all over 21, ali lohan doesnt count because she’s never papped without her sister, and is of no interest to anyone other than being a kid in a bar with her older sister. And never will be of interest on her own. But Miley is definitely doing things that are inappropriate because she’s been poorly raised – she’s the next one who will be like Lohan, I mean she and her nine year old sister have been photographed pole dancing – what frigging parents would allow that even as a joke?
It gives me some hope that kids that age to have some sense of boundaries and realize when someone who has been manufactured to sell directly to them, they can see thru it and no that the behaviors are wrong or in bad taste. So kudos to them.
Yeah.. Worst Celebrity Influence? She doesn’t even have a sex tape out yet! I mean.. I guess she’s still underage. Maybe R. Kelly could help her out.
Yep, the Miley haters were voting more. Miley’s no worse and a lot better than many kids her age. Still, this young lady is getting bad advice from somebody, or maybe no direction at all.
As the mother of a pre-teen daughter who loves Miley, I can tell you that I’m tired of the bullshit being said about her. How in the hell do you know she was “raised poorly”? Were you there?? IDTS!
When you’re comparing Miley to Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, she’s obviously the worst. Miley’s done some pretty stupid shit, but I think it’s just misdirection. I really think that Miley is a smart girl, but something is changing her. Hollywood? Yes, I think so. I’ve lost most of my respect for Miley, but I still enjoy watching Hannah Montana and listening to her music. I just wish that Miley could start acting like herself again.
