Loleini Tonga, fiancee of Chris Henry, spoke with ESPN about the death of the Cincinnati Bengals running back.
She was asked why she didn’t stop while Henry was in the back of the truck and why she thinks he jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving.
It’s a little weird to me that, when she was asked why she didn’t stop the truck, she says, “I was gunna stop, but there’s nowhere to stop on that road.” It’s a road, you could have stopped! Certainly not blaming her, Henry was the one who supposedly jumped in the back to begin with. But I don’t think that’s a great answer. But it was a mistake, and unfortunately one she will have to live with for the rest of her life. Tragic.

She could have slowly stopped the car in the middle of traffic, anyone would have done that. She’s been told to say what she’s saying by an attorney because there is a chance she could be charged with manslaughter of varying degrees. He was banging on the cab to GET HER TO STOP DRIVING. It’s likely she slammed on the brakes causing him to fall out of the truck bed directly on his head instead of rolling to a stop. It’s his fault for jumping into the bed of the truck but the reality is she killed him by not coming to a rolling stop, that is what his children will know – that mom caused his death by not doing the right thing. She doesn’t even sound sincere. It’s CYA for Tonga.
