Rue McClanahan suffered a minor stroke as a result of heart bypass surgery she had back in November.
McClanahan, 75, best known for her role on The Golden Girls, has unfortunately had a long road to recovery. Doctors had to remove a blood clot from her brain soon after her November surgery. She spent two weeks in ICU. Now, with the stroke, her recovery has gotten even more complicated.
The stroke has limited Rue’s right side movement and her speech has been affected as well. Her publicist is optimistic though, saying Rue is currently in physical therapy and should be released from the hospital by the end of the month.
Get well, Rue!

I wish her well.
Get well Rue!! Give ‘em hell at Shady Pines!! You will be back at the Rusty Anchor in no time at all!!
I wish the best to Rue McClanahan and a quick road to complete recovery real soon. I sure enjoyed Rue’s character on Golden Girls, and now that spunk will do her well in her healing process.
