Survivor’s Jennifer Lyon
Jennifer Lyon, who you may know from Survivor Palau, is dead at the age of 37.
Lyon was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005. She elected to have a double mastectomy which was followed up by chemotherapy. Unfortunately after all that she still ended up losing her battle with cancer.
Lyon finished fourth place on Survivor Palau (2005).
She told Us Weekly after being diagnosed: “I was completely shocked and overwhelmed. I felt fine that day. In fact, I’ve been healthy my entire life.”
So sad and frightening. Poor girl. Way too young to die.
I too, am 37 years old and have been told by my doctor over and over that I don’t need a mammogram until I am 40+. Even though that is standard procedure, I can’t help but think of all the people who might have been saved had they have had a mammogram at an earlier age.
RIP Jennifer. Cancer Sucks.

You can get a mammogram at any age, you may have to pay for it yourself if your insurance company won’t pay for it before 40 but you can get one.
I just read about this on another website.. Such a tragedy. It sounds like her and Jeff Probst got close after the show ended, and they’ve stayed in constant contact over the years.
RIP
