Nicole Richie Denies She Had Eating Disorder

Nicole Richie at her thinnest

A few years back we were all talking about Nicole Richie’s weight, remember?

She was literally skin and bones. Scary skinny. Even she admitted it. However, she never admitted to having an eating disorder.

These days Nicole looks better, she’s still thin, but she looks a hell of a lot better than she used to.

In the March issue of British Marie Claire, Nicole discusses her weight and the times when everyone was speculating that she was anorexic. Sadly, she is still denying that she ever was.

“I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible.”

She added: “An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease.”

The fact that Nicole is denying it, concerns me a little bit.She was clearly anorexic back when the above photo was taken. If it wasn’t anorexia, then what was it? Back in 2006 her medical team described her condition as “in the realm of anorexia.” [People magazine May 2006]

Is Nicole embarrassed – or is she still suffering from the disease? She must be. I only say this because she seems to be in denial. I do love Nicole though, and wish her nothing but the best.

Nicole is currently working on her ABC television show which she is both producing and starring. Can’t wait, I think she is adorable…even if she is in denial.

if eating disorder is the same thing as snorting an 8 ball a day, then yes, she most def had an eating disorder!

If I recall correctly, she was also a drug addict. That might explain her anorexic look without her having been anorexic. I don’t know why should wouldn’t just say, “I was a drug addict and that’s what it did to my body” and be done with it. Her drug problems, and subsequent recovery, are common knowledge, really.

There are a whole bunch of reasons that someone can be that skinny and it isn’t always anorexia. Why do people find that so hard to believe?

Skinny doesn’t automatically equal anorexic and people need to stop assuming it does as it could mean they ignore other very real health issues.

I agree its totally insulting and unfair to claim that nicole is suffering from eating disorder just because she lost so much weight. she can loose weight because of many other reasons not an eating disorder.
The media are just waiting for a chance to make up stories about celebs and get publicity.

She was chubby for the longest time and dropped all that weight but if your rib cage is that discernible, denying you had an eating disorder means you probably are still in the midst of it. I have a feeling Benji let’s her know when she is getting too thin and because she wants that relationship to work, she keeps her weight up. I think if she were alone again her weight would drop down again. But you cannot look at those photos and not see that girl was ill with an eating disorder.
