Captain Phil Harris of Deadliest Catch Suffers Stroke

The Cornelia Marie’s Captain Phil Harris suffered a stroke Sunday while off loading his boat in Alaska.

He and his fishing boat are featured on The Discovery Channel reality show, The Deadliest Catch.

Harris had to be airlifted to Anchorage for emergency surgery. He is reportedly doing well now and is recovering. His sons, Josh & Jake, are at his side and the Cornelia Marie is back out on the Bering Sea, without the Harris boys or their father.

Phil Harris suffered a blood clot to the heart in 2008. He is a heavy smoker and doesn’t exactly live a healthy lifestyle.

Phil lives pretty close to me and I see his boys Josh & Jake around town often. We love Captain Phil here at Celebrity Smack (and locally) and wish him a speedy recovery!

Poor Phil, my boyfriend and I love watching this show…everytime the CM is on the screen he’s like, ah theres my boat….I pray that he is going to be ok, the Bering Sea wont be the same without Phil out there fishing

Thank you Spicy for covering this! I love The Deadliest Catch and LMAO over last year’s episode where he discussed “crab fart bubbles” . It’s on you tube. Those guys go through a lot to bring some of our restaurant faves to the dinner table. Much love to Phil and Jake and Josh!

Love Phil and his boys. They are a real family business, and they have real family drama. Best wishes to the entire family, as well as to the family of the Cornelia Marie. It’s just not the same when Phil’s not on his boat!
