Justin Mentell is dead after a car accident

Former Boston Legal actor Justin Mentell is dead after being involved in a car accident in rural Wisconsin.

Mentell’s vehicle was discovered early Monday morning by a farmer. We are learning that Mentell’s Jeep veered off a highway, went down a steep embankment and crashed into two trees. He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The accident is believed to have happened at approximately 3:30 am, and he was discovered around 8:30 am, after the sun had come up.

Chief Deputy John Pepper announced: “It looks like [Mentell] had been there for several hours. There are a lot of trees in that area, so if you were driving on 39, you wouldn’t be able to see the vehicle. The farmer was traveling on Moscow Road after the sun came up, and he saw the Jeep in a field.”

Although there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved, toxicology reports will not be complete for several weeks.
