Captain Phil Harris is improving after suffering a stroke & coma
As I reported Monday, Captain Phil Harris suffered a stroke Sunday while off-loading his fishing boat, the Cornelia Marie.
You probably know Phil from the Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch.
Phil had to be medically induced into a coma after the stroke caused his brain to swell. According to his sons, Phil has awakened from the coma and is improving. They say as soon as he was cognizant he told doctors not to “f**k up.” Ha! Sounds like Phil is definitely getting back to his old self – which is a great thing.
Jake and Josh Harris say they are “encouraged but still very cautious” about Phil’s condition.
Phil’s a tough dude, and I’m sure he will pull through, I just seriously hope he will take this as a wakeup call and kick life in the ass with a healthy lifestyle when he is able.
Love you, Phil! Get better soon.

I wish Captain Phil all the best. I admire his tough and courageous leadership especially in dealings with his sons.
Thank God that Phil is getting his fiesty spirit back !! He’s tough.-BUT- will definately want to put his health As #1 priority!! Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Godspeed, Phil !!!
God Speed to Phil and family. Millions of prayers will continue to flow until Phil is reunited with his family and Cornelia Marie. YOU ARE LOVED! XO
Thanks so much for covering this Spicy. From watching the show, he’s like a brother to me…
I think you are the best. Get better!!!!!! Please!!!!!!. Will be keeping you in my thoughts Godspeed.
I love me some Deadliest Catch and the Harris men were always my favorites. I remember when Phil was taken to the hospital (against his will, of course) for heart problems and was smoking cigarettes right outside the ER. Dude is badass is what I’m saying.
OMG!!! I am so thankful phil has woken up and is improving! I love Phil, he is the best captain i will ever like on the show! He needs to quit his smoking habit and start a new clean life of not smoking! GET BETTER SOON PHIL!!! I WILL BE PRAYING FOR U AND YOUR FAMILY, AND ALSO FOR YOUR HEALTH TO CONTINUE TO IMPROVE!!!!
So sorry to lose the Cap’n…just recently got into this show….he was a tough ole dog….RIP
