Tim Tebow Super Bowl controversial commercial
Here’s the Tim Tebow controversial Super Bowl pro-life commercial, ‘Focus on the Family’.
You know, I hate politics and touchy subjects like this, but I am going to say this. Shouldn’t people in our country be allowed to be pro-life? Isn’t that what our country is all about? Having opinions? You don’t have to agree, that’s what makes our country what it is.
I think it’s stupid that people are freaking out over the Tim Tebow commercial. People aren’t allowed to express their feelings anymore unless they are P.C.

That is all. Discuss!

The issue isn’t about political correctness or the actual content of the ad. The issue that many people are concerned about is that CBS has a policy of not airing any political or agenda driven ads during the superbowl, and this has been true up until this year. So they broke that policy when they accepted this Tebow ad. They also refused to show a pro-gay marriage ad as well, therefore belying the argument they used of “free speech” when accepting the Tebow ad.
No, we’re not allowed to be pro-life. Some people have no idea how difficult it is to be a conservative in this country today. Unless you agree with liberals and the majority of the MSM, you’re simply ignorant and unaware of what’s really going on. Only liberals read books, watch appropriate news channels and really, truly understand what our government leaders are doing. If you have conservative views you’re automatically wrong. Most liberals today, or at least the ones I know and speak with, truly believe that you’re only a conservative because you’re not reading/watching/listening to the right things, and if you would just read/watch/listen to the correct things… you’d obviously change your mind. It’s infuriating.
Except for who put out the ad, how was that a political commercial? The only reason it was considered a “pro-life” advertisement was because the liberals got in a huff about it. Had they kept their mouth shut, most people probably wouldn’t even realize the full story behind it, and probably wouldn’t have paid much attention, or not nearly as much attention has been paid to it now. I really think it was a whole lot of mess about nothing. It’s a mom who loves her son. What’s so wrong about that?
And what gay marriage ad did they refuse? The only gay ad I’ve seen they refused is the one for that “dating” site, which if you actually go TO the site, it’s more like an Adult Friend Friender site than a dating site. I don’t want AFF on during the super bowl, and I don’t want a gay version of it, either.
Sure, people can pro-life or pro-choice or whatever. They can even have their own opinions ’cause this is America, dammit! But that isn’t the issue here; it’s CBS’ ostensible non-political/agenda-driven ad policy.
If CBS really has a policy of non-political ads, then that ad shouldn’t have shown. Sure, it may have been tasteful and understated, but so what? If Planned Parenthood had shown an ad with nothing but their name on it the conservatives would be screaming. Or how ’bout a PETA “rather go naked” ad? I shudder to think….
Political is political, no matter how you dress it up. And somebody at CBS knew that and ran the ad anyway. Sorry, but that doesn’t pass the smell test.
It was a cute commercial, I’m very happy her child was born healthy. But I must say that was her choice. I feel no one has the right to choose for someone else.
A woman should have the right to make her own choice. The day she loses that right she becomes a second-class citizen. The government, the church or anyone else has no right to dictate what a woman should do with her body! Thankfully I live in a free country with the right to choose and my Canadian Health Care will pay for it!
I have a problem with those who claim to be pro-life, but don’t give two shits about anyone other embryos/fetuses. If you say you believe that all life is sacred, then you’d better CARE about all life, even the less-savory ones like death-row convicts, drug-addicts, and homosexual AIDS/HIV patients. If you oppose abortion, but support the death penalty, then you’re not pro-life just anti-abortion.
