Ricky Martin Admits, “I’m GAY!”



Ricky Martin GAY?! No way!

After YEARS of speculation, Ricky Martin has finally admitted that he is, in fact, gay.

Ricky posted on his official site: (which is currently broken from all the traffic) “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.”

Martin says he came out of the closet for his baby boys, who were born in 2008: “To keep living as I did up until today would be to indirectly diminish the glow that my kids where [sic] born with.”

SHOCKING! Not. But nonetheless everyone is freaking out about the news. Guess what, people? Ellen DeGeneres is gay too! I know, I totally just outed her, but whatevs.

    I am surprised to see this announcement in the news. I had thought years ago Ricky announced he was gay, but I guess that was just the gossip. Good for him to be honest with himself and his family/friends.

    Spicy, I love your site, you tell it like it is and usually with respect. I do, however, feel like using the word “admit” makes it sound like he is confessing to something wrong and unseemly, something he should be ashamed of. Isn’t that one of the reasons some gay people hesitate to say anything publically? A more accurate word might be “acknowledged” or “confirmed”. It doesn’t have that “shame” feeling attached, as it should be.

    Again, love the site, love your work, but felt the need to speak up.
